After winning the Division II State Championship a week prior, the Canyon View girls track and field wrapped up their season by capturing a second-place team finish at the Arizona State Meet at Mesa Community College.

McGinty Sisters Win State Doubles Title
Amaia and Maliyah McGinty added another chapter to their family’s tennis legacy, capturing the Division I Girls Doubles State Championship with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Desert Mountain. Older sister Zaria McGinty won the Division II Singles State Championship in 2023.
The sisters made a dominant run through the bracket, not dropping a game in the opening two rounds with 6-0, 6-0 wins over Gila Ridge and Casteel. They continued their strong play in the quarterfinals with a win over Xavier Prep’s Leighton Champagne and Victoria Sott, then advanced past Boulder Creek’s Alina Barney and Samantha Spiteri 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals.
